To intensify literacy initiatives and promote a stronger culture of reading, the Department of Education (DepEd) has turned over a newly completed P6.7-million Library Hub to the Division of Davao del Sur.
This project will serve as centralized repository and distribution center of supplementary reading materials for public schools. As a result, learners gain greater access to quality books and resources that support their reading skills and overall academic development.
In addition, the Library Hub is equipped with a solar-powered electric system. This innovation guarantees uninterrupted operations while supporting DepEdโs advocacy for resilient and eco-friendly education infrastructure.
The turnover ceremony was witnessed by DepEd officials, district supervisors, and school heads, and was marked by a blessing led by Rev. Fr. Allan Joie T. Nuรฑez, DCD, emphasizing the projectโs role in fostering both academic growth and values-based education.
The Library Hub will cater teachers and students that will directly benefit from improved access to reading materials. Consequently, the initiative is expected to help bridge learning gaps and uplift the quality of basic education in the province.
DepEd reinforces its commitment to providing inclusive, quality, and sustainable education for all learners in Davao del Sur.
