Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Juan Edgardo โ€œSonnyโ€ Angara made a surprise visit boosting the morale of Grade 8 teachers of Schools Division of Davao del Sur undergoing a crucial Revised K to 12 Curriculum Capacity Building activity at the Hotel de Crisbelle, Crown Center, Digos City last July 10, 2025.

During his address, Secretary Angara expressed profound gratitude to the teachers, emphasizing the significant impact of their dedication and hard work. He highlighted that the skills and knowledge gained during this training will directly contribute to improve student performance, building upon the Division of Davao del Surโ€™s already notable achievements in various assessments and further elevate the already high-performing DepEd Division of Davao del Sur. “Your commitment to excellence is evident,” he stated, and this training will only amplify your ability to nurture the next generation of learners”.

Beyond the capacity building event, Secretary Angara shared a poignant account of his recent visits to Matanao National High School and Matanao Senior High School. These schools, severely damaged by earthquakes several years ago that continue to face significant challenges.
