The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Davao del Sur successfully conducted its Internal Quality Audit (IQA) from August 4 to 8, 2025 as part of its commitment to continually improve its services in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 Standard and the Department of Education (DepEd) Quality Management System (QMS).

The Divisionโ€™s pool of trained Internal Quality Auditors led the activity to assess the conformity, effectiveness, and efficiency of various processes across SDO offices and units, including governance, curriculum implementation, support services, and operational management. The audit aimed to ensure that all processes are aligned with the QMS Manual, documented procedures, and the principles of customer focus, continual improvement, and evidence-based decision-making.

The week-long audit involved document reviews, process observations, and interviews with process owners. It also identified best practices, nonconformities, and opportunities for improvement, which will be used to strengthen the Divisionโ€™s operations and service delivery to its stakeholders.

This IQA serves as part of the Divisionโ€™s preparation for external surveillance audits and reinforces DepEdโ€™s mandate to deliver accessible, equitable, and quality basic education.

โ€œOur Internal Quality Audit is not merely a compliance exercise but a commitment to excellence. It ensures that we remain responsive, accountable, and service-oriented,โ€ said Kirk Sonny Gil P. Heruela who led the closing meeting of the audit.

The audit findings and recommendations will be consolidated into an Audit Report, which will guide the Division in formulating corrective and preventive actions in line with ISO 9001:2015 Clause 10 โ€“ Improvement.
