Davao del Sur โ July 14, 2025. To ensure safe workplace and efficient service, the Department of Education (DepEd) Davao del Sur Division conducted a random drug testing, July 14, 2025 as part of its unwavering commitment to maintain a drug-free workplace and ensure the safety and well-being of learners, parents, and the entire school community.
The activity was conducted in compliance with Civil Service Commission (CSC) Resolution No. 1700653, which mandates mandatory random drug testing for all public officials and employees, and DepEd Order No. 37, s. 2017, also known as the Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
This initiative was carried out in partnership with the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), headed by Rey Banlasan, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). Their support and expertise ensured the proper and confidential conduct of the drug testing in line with health and legal protocols.
Division officials emphasized that a drug-free workplace is essential to protecting the welfare of students and maintaining the trust of parents and other education stakeholders. By ensuring that teachers and staff are free from the influence of illegal drugs, DepEd Davao del Sur can continue to deliver safe, quality, and effective education services.
The random drug testing was facilitated by authorized health professionals and conducted with full respect for the rights of all employees, ensuring transparency and integrity in the process.
DepEd Davao del Sur reaffirmed its commitment to work hand in hand with parents, communities, and partner agencies in promoting a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment for every learner.
